{The Lennox Family} Colorado Springs Family Lifestyle Photographer

I love that this family wanted an urban session...a little mix up from the typical rural session. They chose to meet me down at Colorado College Campus, which is always a good choice in my opinion. This campus is filled with great architecture, unique wood doors, light strolled sidewalks, etc. I'm always anxious to see what sweet little Jane is going to show up in. On this fun fall morning she surprised me with the cutest darn cowboy boots...oh my stars!!! Love all her 2yr. old energy. Take a peek at our morning together...

Fall is one of my favorite seasons to shoot & definitely amongst the most popular with my clients. In fact, if you are stalking my blog for ideas & thinking about booking me for a Fall session, you might want to make sure you schedule at least 2 months out from the date you want. Think of me like a hairdresser.;) This location became one of my most requested throughout Fall especially with my military families or families who happen to be moving away. Of course, I can clearly understand why...it has amazing front range views of the mountains, pikes peak as well as Garden of the Gods. What's not to love? This family were new clients to me & though we had just met; I felt as though I had known them forever. So great to work with, personable, easy to talk to & their boys were darling and sweet. Mom nailed everyone's wardrobe...colors were on point. We played games, jumped on crunchy leaves, laughed and made magic that evening on the hillside. Take a peek...

Recognize this family? You should. I post them every year & have been for 9 years. They were my original paying clients. Love this family. I used to attend MOPS with Suzy & happen to know she's a fabulous wife & mom to these 3 boys (yes, her two sons & her hubby.;)) This session she toughed it out with me as I required her to climb to the top of Pulpit Rock & she did it in a dress ya'll. She's amazing; I'm telling you firsthand!!! Her hubby was smart enough to tell her to bring her tennis shoes for the hike up at least. Phew!;) It was a beautiful fall evening & we were blessed with the most amazing sunset too. Lucky us! I have loved capturing this family and watching her boys grow taller year after year. Pretty sure her oldest is gonna pass her up in the next session..or is pretty close at least.;) Where does time go? Here's a peek at their fabulous session...

*You should also take note (if you scroll through the entire session...towards the bottom) there is a traditional picture that is always requested by dad. He lifts both boys off the ground (1 in each arm) to which I start busting up laughing because each year these boys get bigger & heavier. One of these days, this request will get forgotten.;) (intentionally no doubt). Ha-ha-ha!!!

{The Johnson Family} Colorado Springs Lifestyle Family Photographer

So I may have ooohed & aaahed over Lisa (aka: Mom's) dress when she got out of her car. Literally. I loved it & then as her family began to disembark...I was freaking out...everyone looked AMAZING!!! Like spot on! I get sooo excited about fashion & when I family shows up so well put together, I MIGHT make a big deal out of it.;) This evening was memorable for several reasons. 1.) We just covered it.;) 2.) Their was a planned proposal at the Nature & Discovery Center the night we shot their session. I remember because their were two other photogs trying to capture it secretly for this young man & it just so happen to be sooooo very busy, that the soon to be fiance' was irritated they couldn't find a spot to be "alone." LOL!!! We tried to stay out of the way as much as possible, but there are only so many places to go (if you've ever been here, you'll know what I mean). Anyway...he was eventually able to pop the question because we saw them again on the way out & his fiance' was beaming ear to ear and looking at her ring!!! I have such a fun job...I get to witness all kinds of craziness out and about in this world.

BUT...back to the Johnson Family. They rocked their session from start to finish. Check it out...

{The Frith Family} Colorado Springs Lifestyle Family Photographer

Rebecca, Grant & Ally have been loyal clients of mine for as long as I can remember. Every year we rack our brains for something new, exciting & lifestyle. This session we both decided the Paint Mines out east was the perfect spot. Unfortunately, the first time around didn't work out so well. We totally got rained out!!! =( So, we rescheduled & the second time was the charm. It was a perfect September evening, perfect temperature, perfect amount of light & did I mention perfect wardrobe!?! Rebecca always does an amazing job picking out everyone's outfits for their sessions. They coordinated & complimented the hues/shades of the Paint Mines just beautifully. We had a blast hiking the rocks...way up high, way down low & way deep into some of the cool caves to be discovered. Though it was busy, we were able to weave in/out of other visitors & I was able to capture their adventures, connections & personalities. If you want to shoot your family at this fabulous location, JUST ASK. It's a little bit of a drive, but I promise you, IT IS WORTH IT (especially if you've never been). Such a cool place not many know about!!! Take a peek...

{The Crutchley Family} Colorado Springs Lifestyle Family Photographer

This little red-headed family hold a special place in my heart. I look forward to working with them every Fall. They are so easy to work with & so darn photogenic. I always try & mix up the location for them. This year, (or rather last...b/c I'm behind on blogging) we ended up at Mnt. Herman Dog Pond. Love this spot...it's so unique &  has that Colorado feel to it...with the white giant sandstone rock, tall pines, mountain backdrop & dog pond. I love that they chose dark green for their colors; it was such a good contrast against the light sandstone rock. Fall will be here again before we know it. If we can just get out of yucky SPRING first.;) Enjoy a peek at our amazing session together...

{The Hayman Family} Colorado Springs Lifestyle Family Photographer

Yep...my blogging is all out of order these days, cause when you get as far behind as I have...you just do your best to catch up with some of your favorite sessions! =) This family session is by far no exception. I loved working with the adorable, carefree & beautiful Hayman Family. They brought so much sunshine & smiles to their session I cannot even begin to tell you. This was late last September & it was a gorgeous Colorado evening. We met at one of my favorite spots that really shows off GOTG & the entire front range quite well...in fact, it's become a very requested spot (in part due to this session). I'm gonna let the pictures speak for themselves here...no need to ramble on with silly facts. Enjoy a peek...

{The McWilliams Family} Colorado Springs Lifestyle Family Photographer

This session was a bit of challenge for so many reasons, but you would NEVER know it looking at the photos. We were dealing with crazy amounts of wind, a spunky & strong-willed toddler & busy biking trails. All I could do was laugh it off & keep clicking. I was thankful for a beautiful sunset, relaxed clients & my trigger-happy finger.;) I love this family & they've loyally been using me as their family photographer since Kylie (their youngest was less than a year old). Needless to say, I'm thankful they're patient and understanding. Palmer Park is a fabulous location as far as mountain views, but I always try & warn everyone in advance about the crazy amounts of cactus & yucca plants. OUCH!!! Where tennis shoes or don't move.;) Ha! Enjoy a peek at a whirlwind session...literally.

{The Thompson Family} Colorado Springs Lifestyle Family Photographer

Fox Run Park is an interesting location to me...it can convey so many different feelings. This was a summer session, so it came across warm, dreamy, whimsical. But I have shot here many times in the winter & it can feel big, mysterious, magical. Those pines feel twice as tall in the winter covered in a dusting of snow. I like that it has so many different characteristics that it beckons me & challenges me.

Anywhooo...lots of rambling today. This family was so cute & easy to photograph. They just allowed me to give a little instruction but were so free-spirited & in just being themselves, I found them a delight to photograph. The pictures & the love speak for themselves. Take a peek...

{The Jewett Family} Colorado Springs Lifestyle Family Photographer

Sometimes in life you get inspired. That's exactly what happened when I began planning the Jewett Family Photoshoot. Carrie, who happens to be a very close friend of mine, loves VW Vans...I mean LOVES them!!! So about six months prior to this session, I called her up & explained my vision. She was immediately on-board & began researching, plotting & planning how to get or rather borrow a VW Van. Once she pinned one down to rent for her session, I began plotting & planning: location, wardrobe & ideas. Together we collaborated beautifully and it couldn't have gone better in my opinion. The session went off without a hitch. Weather, including sunset was amazing, family looked top-notch, VW Van sparkled & mountain backdrop was to die for. Our theme was kind of beachy vibe in the mountains. I don't do a lot of styled sessions, but when they are friends, I make an exception.;) Take a peek at this gorgeous family...

{The Piano Family} Colorado Springs Lifestyle Family Photographer

I met the darling Piano Family at Larkspur Park in--- you guessed it, Larkspur. This was my first time meeting this family & I instantly crushed on them. So many different personalities from this big family, I loved it!!! Everyone was amazing to work with from the oldest to youngest. We had a fabulous time together & I recall the weather being absolutely perfect. This was on a random day we scheduled after we had received weeks of rain in July. I remember both of us commenting on how we completely lucked out...sun was shining, skies were blue & I'm fairly certain I heard birds singing.;) Take a peek at their dreamy session...

{The Vrooman Family} Colorado Springs Lifestyle Family Photographer

This cute little fam were all sunshine & roses. We enjoyed a free-spirit kind of morning frolicking at the park in the sunshine, avoiding puddles (since little guy was wearing white), playing hide & seek, 1,2,3 swing & other games. I loved capturing them interacting as a family of three...such doting parents with their son's every curiosity & request; seriously the sweetest. i love capturing families of three. I realize it is such a fleeting stage for most (as it was only 19 months for my husband & I). So brief & so tender...definitely a favorite stage to reflect back on. Enjoy a peek at our morning together underneath the willow trees...

{The Hammond Family} Colorado Springs Lifestyle Family Photographer

Those of you who have scheduled a session with me before, know that I have a "nerdy notebook" where I sketch out stick drawings due to my poor memory. Well, this session was no different in that I came prepared; however, often times with "littles" I find that I throw my sketch book to the way side & just SHOOT. I literally roll with the punches, make up games as I go & occasionally dance like a monkey!;) But I am so thankful in the long run when I look back...because these are the pictures that tell a story & relate that real emotion in a child or love in a mother. You can plan for these...you just merely capture them as they unfold. I am so lucky that I get to do what I do. I truly am passionate about this thing called life & relationship connections. The Hammond Sibling Trio is pure magic...check them out on this sunny summer morning!!!

{The Novembre Family} Colorado Springs Lifestyle Family Photographer

The Novembre Family were also new clients this season. We met on Mesa Rd. across from Garden of the Gods...a gorgeous spot with epic views. This was our second attempt at getting in this session due to weather, but was thankful it cooperated the second time around. It was so fun to meet their big family with four kids...all big personalities (some bigger than others.;)) Ha! Loved working with them...they were so chill & go with the flow...I've mentioned before, but my favorite type of clients. =) Of course we captured a handful of "everyone look at the camera" but true to my free spirit I happen to love the carefree unplanned, let kids be kids & run wild shots. And I happened to feel a connection with their youngest, Annie. Probably because she is the youngest of 3 older siblings, as am I. So without more chatter from me...here's a peek!

{The McClary Family} Colorado Springs Lifestyle Family Photographer

This was my first time meeting Jen, Matt & Madison...& if I'm gonna be honest, I STILL (even 8 years into owning my business) get a little bit of the "butterflies" when meeting new clients!!! I mean...that's normal, right? I love people, I love my job, but I always want good rapport, great connection, natural conversation, light-heartedness, for everyone to have fun & LOVE their photos most importantly! I don't put pressure on myself at all. Ha-ha!!! Well...the good news is...this session was ALL OF THE ABOVE.

I absolutely fell in love with 2 yr. old Maddie...her outgoing personality, strawberry blonde curls, green eyes and the way she mimics mom & dad. Oh my...so so adorable!!! I think I can speak for all of us when I say our evening spent at Ute Valley Park was nothing short of magical...from the light, to the raw emotion, to the love felt and everything in between.

Enjoy a peek at our beautiful summer evening together...

{The Barnett Family} Colorado Springs Lifestyle Family Photographer

I haven't seen this family in four years. They moved to TX about 4 years ago & when Connie contacted me a few months back to see if I was available to take their family photos while vacationing in Colorado over the summer, I was so thrilled it worked out on the calendar & I was available. It was so great to see them again. Of course the kids are so much more grown up...4th & 5th grade already! Time flies doesn't it. But what I love is that we just picked up right where we left off...with brilliant rapport, lots of laughs & fabulous candids to boot. Take a peek at our sunset session together...where the rain held off & the sun peeked out. Till next time guys...

{The Coulter Family} Colorado Springs Lifestyle Family Photographer

Oh darn, was this session fun!!! I know Sandi (aka: mom) from Antelope Trails Elementary School where my kiddos had the privilege of working with her for their elementary years. Peyton (aka: daughter is just one year older than Sadie) and son & dad I met for the first time...oh & don't forget Pepper (aka: adorable dog). Yep...love me some family pets. She kept us all entertained by her roaming & grass eating. LOL!!! We had a great session on Mnt. Herman Rd. Loved watching this sweet & carefree family interact with one another...whether that meant joking, teasing or just laughing with one another...I saw & felt the bond. One of the many reasons I love my job! =)

Take a peek at their sunset session...

{The Moum Family} Colorado Springs Lifestyle Family Photographer

What more can I say about the Moum Family...they are AWESOME!!! Good family friends & we love hanging out with them! We chose Northgate Open Space for their session as it never disappoints with those awesome blue mountains as a backdrop & the green is starting to happen all around us in the Springs, but ENOUGH with the rain...we are ready for SUN & nothing but SUN!;) Take a peek at their sweet little simple session & our time together...

{The Sibenaller Family} Colorado Springs Lifestyle Family Photographer

Gosh darn...this little fam is so so cute & they are leaving me!=( Moving to Maryland SOON! I get so attached to my Military families & then they move away...ugh!!! =( I'm happy to at least oblige all of them in capturing our amazing Colorado mountain backdrop to take with them. That is everyone's request (of course) before leaving here. Who doesn't want to take those beautiful memories with them?!! The Sibenaller Family requested Palmer Park & I thought it was the perfect location & the most amazing lighting on this chilly Spring evening! I met Charlie, their daughter, back in March of this year when I took her 3yr. pics. Jamie (mom) & I instantly clicked and I was thrilled when she called me up last minute to see if I could squeeze in a session while her hubby was in town for a few days. It was so sweet to watch them interact as a family. See the connections...especially what a daddy's girl Charlie is. As you can see in a few of the pics Jamie is expecting their second child & though she feels a bit out of sorts with her pregnant self, I think she is just stunning & glowing!!! Dad & I both agreed she needed a few expecting shots to capture her adorable baby bump. =) Thanks for a wonderful session Sibenaller Family. I wish you all the best in your new adventures out east. Many Blessings!!!

{The Weiss Family} Travel Session!!! Colorado Springs Lifestyle Family Photographer

To say this session was FUN would be an understatement!!! Let me be honest for a moment...squeezing this session in during our whirlwind of a weekend was CRAZY, but I wouldn't have re-scheduled for anything! My husband & I attended Northwestern College (now the University of Northwestern) in St.Paul, MN back in the day with Kristine & Cameron (I won't say how along ago to save us both the embarrassment!!!.;)) We recently reconnected via FB (good ol' Social Media) & now it's become tradition to get an annual shoot in with this ADORABLE & HILARIOUS family! Needless to say Kristine is more familiar with Eden Prarie since that's where they live & I well...I trust her judgement to choose a location every time. We decided to stick with Bryant Lake again because A.) It's huge & B.) There are endless places to shoot. So I told her...let's meet in the main lot & fly by the seat of our pants. It's true folks...true to my nature to roll with the punches & be inspired as I go.

INSPIRED would also be an understatement! As SOON as I spotted the colorful canoes I was over the moon EXCITED!!! You see, I've always wanted to do a water/beach/colorful canoe/boat what have you session. Here was my opportunity! Now...you may think I'm teasing when I say this, but seriously you would've thought we literally planned all of this out because UMMM...hello, look at their outfits, now look at the canoes!!! Can you say Photographer's Heaven?!!! Like I mentioned in my FB sneak-peek post...EVERYTHING worked out like Magic on this night...the weather, the wardrobe, their smiles, their energy, the lighting, the sunset. AMAZING!!!

I just have one last thing to say...if you LOVE these photos & you live in MN...ask Kristine for my contact, because I would LOVE nothing more than to keep adding families to my trips & heck, maybe I could even stay longer than a weekend. LOL!!!

Enjoy a peek at this beautiful & vivacious family...

P.S. Don't miss the "dabbing"!!! =)
